The London Plane is one of my favourite trees. Originally because it’s autumn seed pods immediately made me think of one of my favourite artists: Ian Miller, who used to use them (or what looks like them) in some of his beautifully dark gothic horror illustrations for Games Workshop. Now I just love them for themselves and their marvellous silhouettes.
