Silhouettes and kaleidoscopes. Process and patterns. These started out as a creative warm up exercise but like a new friend you've stitched together out of parts gathered from graveyards and mortuaries and left out in an electrical storm they took on a life of their own. These are (mostly) created from photographs of silhouettes of winter trees in and around the Chiltern Hills which I've digitally sliced up and stitched together again following some specific processes. The core idea is to take messy organic forms and restructure them with restrictive geometric shapes and patterns. Yes, I really like kaleidoscopes.
