The outer casing collapses, leaving a skeleton of beautiful gold.

This leaf has worked hard and is ready for retirement.

Leaves folded like wings, ready to depart.

Standing up against the march of time. Until it’s final resting place on our compost heap.

The red of the maple leaf gives way to brown and green.

I have a long time fascination with the skeletons of leaves.
